Barrys Bay's population is approximately at 1,200 people, and is the largest center in the general Madawaska Valley area of Renfrew County. It services its immediate and outlying surrounding residents with schools including the regional high school, an arena and a hospital in addition to local conveniences such as banks, hardware and building centres, grocery stores, post office, churches, restaurants, etc.
